Welcome to my blog! My name is Derek Guyer and I’m what Isaiah calls cut from the Rock. According to scripture, I’m made in the image of God. I have to admit that for years I’ve thought the opposite of that and so it’s with a certain amount of discomfort that I say what I just did…
Satan has deceived me, and a lot of other people, into believing that I’m trash and that I’ve got nothing to be proud of or to feel strong about. But, I’m trying to stop believing that because in believing it, I must believe that my God is weak and pitiful and everything I read about him says differently.
My God has done some pretty incredible things and in keeping this blog, I hope to remind myself and anyone else who is interested in listening that my God is a Mighty Warrior. According to the Psalm writer, “clouds and thick darkness surround him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne. Fire goes before him and consumes his foes on every side. His lightning lights up the world; the earth sees and trembles. The mountains melt like wax before the LORD, before the Lord of all the earth. The heavens proclaim his righteousness, and all the peoples see his glory.”
This is my chance to start living like I believe something…I hope it will be for you to.
